Artificial Intelligence and Robotics

Robotics is essential to the function of our society today. Resultantly, there’s a growing need for trained engineers who can meet the increasing demand for robots in a variety of fields. In the artificial intelligence and robotics discipline, students gain knowledge in aspects of electrical, computer and mechanical engineering, and computer science. Students acquire a strong ability to analyze and interpret data, and an understanding of how their creations will affect society, the economy and their environment. Familiarization is required in logic, probability theory and statistics, algorithm design and programming languages. Courses within the major include unified robotics; industrial robotics; robot system and engineering design; and modeling and analysis of mechatronic systems.

An artificial intelligence and robotics major should have little trouble finding employment after graduation. They find jobs in national defense and security, customized manufacturing, transportation, interactive entertainment and elder care. It’ll be their responsibility to create new robotics technologies in the future so that difficult tasks are no longer needed to be carried out by humans.
