Business Administration
A business administration major provides students with the skills and knowledge to work in various business and managerial roles. Students will learn the ins and outs of general business operations, as well as economic principles that influence profits. During your business administration curriculum, you will learn how to make important managerial decisions by applying critical-thinking skills, problem-solving skills and developing business plans that will help you meet your end goal. Business administration majors will know how to think, act and perform as a business leader, managing workers to create an optimal, efficient workplace. Business administration students will take classes in accounting, finance, business law and public policy, organization management, operations management, as well as ethics and professionalism in business. Many programs also offer international business classes that broaden your understanding of global business practices and opportunities.
Business administration graduates will be eligible to work in a number of for-profit and not-for-profit organizations and the public sector. Students will have the training and knowledge to do finance, human resource management, international business, marketing and management positions at corporations and small companies. A business administration major is an excellent track for students who want to manage employees, start their own business and help further the success of today’s global market.
