Fashion Design

Fashion design majors learn how to design and produce clothing by studying garment design and construction. They learn about the creative aspects of design, such as style, color, and balance, along with the technical aspects, such as sewing, textiles and application of computer-aided design programs. Fashion design majors learn through hands-on work experience by sketching designs, constructing patterns, and sewing garments. More advanced coursework includes sewing, tailoring, pattern making, textiles, fabrics, and apparel construction techniques.
